Pearl Care Guide
Pearl Care Guide
Pearls are organic gemstones, so they need gentler care than diamonds, sapphires, or other harder stones. With a few simple habits, your pearl jewelry can stay luminous for years.
Wear Them Gently
Put pearls on after perfume, lotion, sunscreen, and hairspray have dried. These products can dull the surface over time. After wearing, wipe pearls softly with a clean, slightly damp cloth to remove oils and residue.
Store Them Separately
Keep pearl jewelry in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box. Avoid storing pearls next to chains, rings, or sharp metal edges that may scratch the nacre.
Avoid Water and Chemicals
Please remove pearl jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or cleaning. Chlorine, salt water, soaps, and household cleaners can affect the pearl surface and metal finish.
Let Pearls Breathe
Pearls benefit from a little natural moisture in the air. Avoid sealing them for long periods in airtight plastic bags. A soft fabric pouch is a better choice.
Check Strands and Settings
If your pearl necklace or bracelet is worn often, check the stringing and clasp from time to time. For pendants, earrings, and rings, make sure the setting still feels secure before wearing.
Good pearl care is simple: wear them often, wipe them gently, and store them with care.
